Aerial is a function venue on Dukes Walk at South Wharf, on the south bank of the Yarra a few minutes’ walk from the Melbourne CBD. It is a single open-plan room of about 690 square metres run by Showtime Event Group, with floor-to-ceiling windows on the river side, white marble floors and high ceilings. The windows give a 180-degree view across the water to the city skyline. It seats 310 with a dance floor and holds 900 for cocktails; couples can arrive by boat.
We have filmed a wedding at Aerial. The room is one long window, so the reception carries daylight through the entrance and the speeches and then the skyline lights up behind the dance floor. Portraits happen outside along the wharf, with the river at your feet and the city towers a short walk over the footbridge.
