The Grounds of Alexandria opened in 2012 in a former pie factory and its concrete car park on Huntley Street, Alexandria, in Sydney’s inner south. It is a cafe, restaurant and garden in one block: The Cafe, The Potting Shed under hanging plants, and The Garden outside with flower displays, kiosks and an animal pen. For weddings the main room is The Atrium, a glass-walled garden parlour hung with greenery, with its own private laneway for the ceremony.
We have filmed two weddings at The Grounds, in 2022 and 2023. The Atrium seats 40 to 80 for dinner or holds up to 150 for a cocktail reception, so it suits a mid-sized city wedding where guests walk from ceremony to table without leaving the building.
