The Post Office Hotel is a corner pub on Sydney Road in Coburg, nine kilometres north of the CBD. A 2010 renovation brought back its art deco details, and weddings happen next door in the Dining Hall, a restored warehouse with cathedral ceilings, exposed brick and beams, terrazzo floors and vintage pendant lights. A covered deck at the rear takes ceremonies under an arbour. The hall seats 120 to 150 for dinner with a dance floor, or 250 for cocktails.
Veri has filmed a wedding here. The shape of the day is simple: ceremony on the deck, drinks in the garden, dinner and dancing in the hall, all on one site, with Sydney Road’s shopfronts and trams outside for a streetscape portrait run.
