Veri Photography Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we need it, who sees it, and how you can see or change it.

In short: we collect what we need to answer your enquiry and photograph and film your wedding. We use it for that and nothing else. We don't sell it. If you have a question, email veri@veri.com.au.

Who we are

Veri Photography (ABN 87 862 383 099) is a wedding photography and videography studio with teams in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Veri Photography. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you enquire. Our enquiry form asks for your names, email address, phone number, wedding date, venue, how you heard about us and your message. If you enquire through a wedding directory such as Easy Weddings, that directory passes your enquiry details to us.

When you book. We ask for the details we need to plan and cover your day. These include your contact details and billing details. They also include your timeline, venues and the names of key family members and suppliers.

On the day. We take photographs and film. These show you, your family and your guests, and they record the voices of anyone speaking, such as your vows and speeches.

When you visit our website. Like most websites, ours records technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages you view. See “Cookies and other services on this website” below.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and send you our packages and prices
  • prepare your booking agreement and invoices, and take payments
  • plan your coverage and work with your venue and suppliers
  • edit and deliver your photographs, films and albums
  • keep the records we are required to keep by law, such as tax records

We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. Each one has an unsubscribe link.

Your wedding photographs and films

Your gallery and films are delivered to you privately. Online galleries stay up for the period your package includes, which is two years for most collections.

We share some weddings on our website, on social media and in wedding publications, as set out in the booking agreement. If you appear in any of our photographs or films online, as a couple or a guest, and would like it taken down, tell us. We will remove it.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only when it's needed to do the work, with:

  • the photographers and videographers on your wedding team
  • your venue and suppliers, where you ask us to coordinate with them
  • our album printer, if you order an album
  • the services we use to run the studio, such as email, website hosting, online galleries and video hosting
  • anyone the law requires us to share it with

Where it is stored

Enquiries from our website are saved in our website’s private admin area and sent to our studio email inbox. Some of the services we use store data outside Australia. Google (email and analytics) and Vimeo (films) store data in the United States. Cloudflare delivers our website through servers in many countries. We only use established providers that protect the data they hold.

How we keep it safe

Access to enquiries, bookings and galleries is limited to our team. The enquiry form sends data over an encrypted connection. Our website automatically filters obvious spam out of the enquiry form. Flagged messages are kept, not deleted, so we can check them. We also use your IP address for a short time to block repeated automated submissions. We keep booking and tax records for as long as the law requires, usually five years.

Cookies and other services on this website

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, such as which pages they visit and how they arrived. It uses cookies and does not tell us who you are. Our fonts load from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. Our films play through Vimeo. Each of these services receives your IP address when your browser loads their content. If we run advertising on Google, Instagram or Facebook, those platforms may use cookies to measure our ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing veri@veri.com.au. We will reply within 30 days. There is no charge.

Questions and complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, email veri@veri.com.au or call 0412 601 921. We will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. We don't use automated decision-making that significantly affects you. If that ever changes, we will say so here.
