Matt and Tarana’s wedding film: the ceremony, portraits and the reception, all at Chateau Wyuna.
The film follows the whole day at Chateau Wyuna in the order it happened: the ceremony, portraits and the reception.
Ceremony, Portraits and Reception: Chateau Wyuna, 170 Swansea Rd, Mount Evelyn VIC 3140.
Chateau Wyuna is a wedding venue on Swansea Road at Mount Evelyn, in the Yarra Ranges where the Dandenongs begin: six acres of bush and garden beside Olinda Creek, and the name means 'on running waters'. Its centrepiece is a log cabin of local timber that took nine years to build under the artist Clarence Earle, joined later by a weatherboard church built in 1909 and moved here from Montrose. The Burgundy Room seats 150 and the Treetop Room 80, both opening onto garden terraces.
We have photographed and filmed weddings at Chateau Wyuna since 2020. The chapel and the gardens sit a short walk apart, so a ceremony runs straight into portraits at the waterfall, the bridge and the gazebo without anyone getting into a car. The cabin’s stringybark interior gives dark, warm frames; the terraces give the light ones. The venue takes one wedding a day, which keeps the grounds quiet for the couple.
On this day the whole film stayed on the property: the ceremony, portraits and the reception at Chateau Wyuna.
