City Beach Function Centre is a reception venue on Marine Drive at Wollongong City Beach, south of Sydney in the Illawarra. It is a purpose-built function centre with two rooms: the Pearl Room, seating 220 for a banquet or 300 for cocktails, and the smaller Ocean Room for about 110. Both have floor-to-ceiling windows onto the beach and share a festoon-lit balcony, and both were refurbished in 2026. Ceremonies run on the beachfront or on the lawn beside the building, with the Wollongong lighthouse nearby.
We have filmed three weddings at City Beach between 2023 and 2025. The shape of a day here is simple: a ceremony on the sand or the lawn, portraits along the beach, then straight up to the room with the ocean still in the windows through dinner.
