Dromana Estate is a working winery on Old Moorooduc Road at Tuerong, under an hour from Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula. Established in 1982, it was one of the early movers in the region, and in 2000 it shifted to the heritage-listed Tuerong Park, where a homestead from the early 1900s sits among clipped gardens, tall cypresses and a weeping elm about a hundred years old. The estate makes pinot noir, chardonnay and shiraz, with a cellar door and restaurant on site.
We have photographed and filmed weddings at Dromana Estate. Ceremonies are held in the gardens, often under the weeping elm or by the cypresses, for up to 200 guests. Receptions run in the renovated stables, with locally milled Oregon beams and heated floors for winter, or in the larger room for bigger dinners, and a wide deck takes the drinks between the two. The vineyard rolls away on every side.
On this day the film moved between 2 locations: the ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Dromana and portraits and the reception at Dromana Estate.
