Glen Albyn Estate is a private wedding property on the Channel Highway at Taroona, about twelve minutes south of Hobart. It covers fifteen acres of bushland running down to the River Derwent, with the historic Shot Tower as a landmark nearby. Four spaces cover most sizes of wedding: the Riverview Deck, an elevated timber platform above the water used for ceremonies; the glass-roofed Atrium for small groups; the Pool Room, which becomes the dance floor; and the Shed, seating up to 500.
Veri photographed Caitlin and Dylan’s wedding here from the bride getting ready through to the reception, all on the estate. That is how the place is built to run: prep in the house, vows on the deck with the river behind, portraits in the bush and along the water, then dinner in one of the rooms without a car in between.
