Jordan and Sorayaa’s wedding film: getting ready, the ceremony, portraits and the reception, all at The Island Gold Coast.
The film follows the whole day at The Island Gold Coast in the order it happened: getting ready, the ceremony, portraits and the reception.
Getting ready, Ceremony, Portraits and Reception: The Island Gold Coast, 3128 Surfers Paradise Blvd, Surfers Paradise QLD.
The Island is a 98-room boutique hotel on Surfers Paradise Boulevard, one block back from the beach in the centre of Surfers Paradise. It was The Islander before a renovation and rebrand, and now holds the Gold Coast’s largest rooftop bar. Weddings use The Glasshouse, a pavilion with glass panel walls, high ceilings and an alfresco deck that takes 780 for cocktails; the Pool Deck; and The Penthouse on the top floor, with an open-air terrace bar and views along the coast to the hinterland.
We have filmed two weddings at The Island, in 2023 and 2025. The venue keeps ceremony, reception and accommodation in one building, and the sand and Cavill Avenue are a few minutes on foot, so portraits can swing from beach to city without a car. The Penthouse’s Ocean View Room, in warm tones under art-deco chandeliers, is the small-reception space.
On this day the whole film stayed on the property: getting ready, the ceremony, portraits and the reception at The Island Gold Coast.
