Blake and Tess’ wedding film: the ceremony, portraits and the reception, all at Q Station.
The film follows the whole day at Q Station in the order it happened: the ceremony, portraits and the reception.
Ceremony, Portraits and Reception: Q Station, 1 N Head Scenic Dr, Manly NSW 2095.
Q Station is the former North Head Quarantine Station at Manly, inside Sydney Harbour National Park. It quarantined arriving ships from 1832 until February 1984, and is on the NSW State Heritage Register and the National Heritage List. The site is now a hotel with 105 rooms in the old first, second and third class accommodation, painted the original yellow, on an amphitheatre of bush running down to Quarantine Beach and the wharf, with views to the city skyline.
We have filmed two weddings at Q Station. Ceremonies use The Headland, the wharf, the Harbour Vista, the Woodlands or the Glasshouse, each with an indoor backup, and receptions run in the Governor Bourke Ballroom for up to 180 seated or the Manly Cove Room for 80. Cars stay at the gate; a shuttle moves guests around the site.
On this day the whole film stayed on the property: the ceremony, portraits and the reception at Q Station.
