Yarra Ranges Estate is a family-owned winery and wedding venue on Coulson Road at Monbulk, between the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges and about an hour from the Melbourne CBD. The property runs to 30 acres of vineyard, gardens and native bush with views across the ranges. Couples choose between a rose-lined vineyard pathway, the vineyard lawn, an undercover terrace and a barrel room with floor-to-ceiling windows for the ceremony, and the reception room holds up to 150 guests with music finishing at 11pm.
We have photographed three weddings at Yarra Ranges Estate, in 2019 and 2022. A day here has a simple shape: vows on the lawn or the vineyard path with the hills stacked up behind, a walk through the rows as the sun drops toward the ranges, then dinner inside with the windows still showing the vines. The estate grows its own wine and cooks its own menus, so the evening stays on the property.
