The story

Golf carts, a beachside first look, and willows by the lake

First look: the Dromana foreshore, Port Phillip Bay. Ceremony & reception: Stillwater at Crittenden, beside the lake at Crittenden Estate, Dromana — at the foot of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula.

The morning started with golf carts and wooden bow ties, then a first look on the sand before vows under the willows beside the Crittenden Estate lake. When the peninsula light went gold the pavilion glowed for speeches and a packed dancefloor. Documentary first — direction only when the light demanded it.

Shooting at Stillwater at Crittenden, Dromana

Stillwater at Crittenden opened in 2004 on the Crittenden Estate vineyard in Dromana and spent two decades as one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most awarded winery wedding venues — a glass-walled pavilion beside the estate lake, ceremonies on the lawn beneath the willows, and vine rows that run straight into golden-hour light.

The Stillwater name has since retired: the Crittenden family brought the restaurant back in-house, and after a full renovation it reopened in spring 2025 as the restaurant at Crittenden Wines. The lake, the willows, the vines and the lakeside villas all remain — so if you’re planning a wedding at Crittenden Wines today, this gallery is a faithful preview of how the estate photographs.
