Bellview Estate Bilpin Wedding Photos

Fifty-year-old pines on Powells Road, with the ceremony held in a clearing among the trunks

Bellview Estate is a privately owned wedding property on Powells Road at Bilpin, in the Blue Mountains north-west of Sydney. It was known as Bilpin Resort until a change of name, and the ground is what sets it apart: the estate sits inside a pine forest planted more than 50 years ago, with the ceremony held among the trunks and receptions in a marquee. The estate also takes overnight guests, so the wedding party can stay on the property.

Kirstie and Hussein held their ceremony and reception at Bellview, with Veri photographing and filming the day; their gallery runs to more than 400 frames. Bilpin is apple and orchard country on the Bells Line of Road, and a wedding here is a proper country day out for a Sydney crowd: the drive up, the forest, and a long evening under canvas.

Pine forest light is the thing to plan around. Under the canopy it is even and cool all day, which is kind to a midday ceremony, but the trunks go dark fast once the sun drops, so take the couple to the forest edge for the last light. Fog and drizzle come through Bilpin without notice and look good here; bring a clear umbrella rather than a black one. The marquee is the wet-weather room. The gallery above is Kirstie and Hussein’s Bellview Estate wedding.
