Narbethong Community Hall stands on the Maroondah Highway at Narbethong, the small timber town between Healesville and Marysville. The original hall burned on Black Saturday, 7 February 2009; the new one, designed pro bono by BVN with Arup, opened on 26 November 2011. It is a tall timber room with vertical timber blades, full-height double glazing to the bush reserve beside it, and a wrap of bronze mesh for bushfire protection. A timber floor and good acoustics make it work for dancing.

It is a country-hall wedding in a building most architects would happily claim: the room reads as warm timber inside and as a fine metal lantern from the road once the lights are on.
