High-rise on the sand, the Nerang River behind it and the sun coming up out of the sea
Surfers Paradise, the centre of the Gold Coast, sits 78 km south of Brisbane on a continuous surf beach, with the Coral Sea to the east and the Nerang River and its canal islands behind. The high-rise skyline has grown since the ten-storey Kinkabool went up in 1959 and now shows from Coolangatta to the hinterland. The sea stays between 21 and 27 degrees year round. Weddings run from hotel receptions in Surfers Paradise to the headlands at Burleigh and Currumbin and the hinterland estates.
We have filmed at Currumbin RSL on the southern beaches, and have photographed and filmed at The Island in Surfers Paradise, Austinvilla Estate, Glenrock Farm and Coolibah Downs Private Estate. Our Gold Coast work runs out of Brisbane, and we cover the whole strip from the Spit at Main Beach down to Coolangatta.
Seven small things that make a real difference on the day — learned across hundreds of weddings. None of them involve practising poses.
In motion, unposed · FR 15AYou don't need to perform or worry about what you look like. The best photos come from real moments: a glance, a laugh, a shared breath. Let go a little — we'll guide when needed, and the best unfolds naturally.
A little breathing room between getting ready, the ceremony and couple portraits makes all the difference. It gives us space for spontaneous shots — and gives you time to soak it all in.
A quiet lane, an open field, a textured wall — we love meaningful or interesting spots. Trust us to find great light, but if you've got a place you love, let's work it in.
Phones can distract from the emotion (and your photos). Asking guests to be fully present makes for cleaner frames and a more heartfelt atmosphere.
Clutter-free rooms with natural light are a photographer's dream, and calm energy in the morning sets the tone for the day. Keep the space tidy — or assign a friend to do a quick sweep before we arrive.
Especially during portraits — hydration and a little sugar go a long way in keeping energy and moods high.
We've worked at hundreds of weddings and we're here to make you look and feel amazing. Trust us with the light, the angles, the pace — we've got you.
The beaches face east, so sunrise is the empty, soft hour on the sand, and the afternoon belongs to the headlands and the river side of the towers. Burleigh headland, Tallebudgera Creek, the Spit and the rock pools at Snapper Rocks are the reliable portrait spots, and sunset drops behind the hinterland somewhere between 4:45 and 7 pm depending on the season. Summer is warm and humid, so we keep the couple session short and shaded until the last hour. Tugun at low tide gives mirror water.
