Seventeen acres behind the Surf Coast, a mud-brick room and a lily pond with geese
Bellbrae Harvest is a 17-acre country property on Portreath Road at Bellbrae, between Torquay and Anglesea, about five minutes off the Great Ocean Road and ten from the beaches. It has run weddings since 2009. The heart of it is a mud-brick style building beside a lily pond, with a terrace for dining and a covered area under vines for sit-down meals; ceremonies happen at the pond or on a nearby beach before the party comes back. There is accommodation on the property.
Kylie and Sandy held their ceremony, portraits and reception at Bellbrae Harvest. It is a one-property day: vows by the water, portraits around the pond and the grounds, then dinner on the terrace or under the vines as the evening cools, with the Otways close by and the coast ten minutes away.
Seven small things that make a real difference on the day — learned across hundreds of weddings. None of them involve practising poses.
In motion, unposed · FR 15AYou don't need to perform or worry about what you look like. The best photos come from real moments: a glance, a laugh, a shared breath. Let go a little — we'll guide when needed, and the best unfolds naturally.
A little breathing room between getting ready, the ceremony and couple portraits makes all the difference. It gives us space for spontaneous shots — and gives you time to soak it all in.
A quiet lane, an open field, a textured wall — we love meaningful or interesting spots. Trust us to find great light, but if you've got a place you love, let's work it in.
Phones can distract from the emotion (and your photos). Asking guests to be fully present makes for cleaner frames and a more heartfelt atmosphere.
Clutter-free rooms with natural light are a photographer's dream, and calm energy in the morning sets the tone for the day. Keep the space tidy — or assign a friend to do a quick sweep before we arrive.
Especially during portraits — hydration and a little sugar go a long way in keeping energy and moods high.
We've worked at hundreds of weddings and we're here to make you look and feel amazing. Trust us with the light, the angles, the pace — we've got you.
The pond is the picture: reflections in the last hour of light, and the resident geese usually make an appearance. Give the couple a slow walk along the water and back through the vines, and use the mud-brick walls for a warm, plain background in the family groups. The building takes the ceremony indoors in wet weather and dinner already sits under cover, so rain changes little. The gallery below is Kylie and Sandy’s Bellbrae Harvest wedding.
