A Bay Street reception room in Brighton, a short drive from the bathing boxes and Middle Brighton pier
The International, listed as The International of Brighton, is a wedding reception venue on Bay Street in Brighton, 11 km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD. Bay Street is the suburb’s main shopping strip, and the Port Phillip foreshore is a few minutes away: the 82 bathing boxes at Dendy Street Beach, Middle Brighton pier and breakwater, the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and the Bay Trail that runs along the water.
Veri’s gallery from The International is a 14-image location set made at a modern-style wedding here, pairing the reception room with Brighton Beach portraits. The shape of a Brighton day is set by the coast: ceremony, then the beach at Dendy Street or the pier while the light is low, then a short drive back up Bay Street for the reception.
Seven small things that make a real difference on the day — learned across hundreds of weddings. None of them involve practising poses.
In motion, unposed · FR 15AYou don't need to perform or worry about what you look like. The best photos come from real moments: a glance, a laugh, a shared breath. Let go a little — we'll guide when needed, and the best unfolds naturally.
A little breathing room between getting ready, the ceremony and couple portraits makes all the difference. It gives us space for spontaneous shots — and gives you time to soak it all in.
A quiet lane, an open field, a textured wall — we love meaningful or interesting spots. Trust us to find great light, but if you've got a place you love, let's work it in.
Phones can distract from the emotion (and your photos). Asking guests to be fully present makes for cleaner frames and a more heartfelt atmosphere.
Clutter-free rooms with natural light are a photographer's dream, and calm energy in the morning sets the tone for the day. Keep the space tidy — or assign a friend to do a quick sweep before we arrive.
Especially during portraits — hydration and a little sugar go a long way in keeping energy and moods high.
We've worked at hundreds of weddings and we're here to make you look and feel amazing. Trust us with the light, the angles, the pace — we've got you.
Brighton’s bathing boxes face west, so they take the last of the sun and give a clean colour backdrop for an hour before sunset; the pier gives silhouettes against the bay once it drops. We keep the portrait session tight, 40 minutes, so the couple are back on Bay Street before the bridal party entrance. Inside, the reception room is lit for dinner, so we add a couple of small lights for the dance floor. The gallery below is our International location set.
