A boathouse on the sand at The Spit, gold-leaf ceilings inside and Middle Harbour at the door
Zest Mosman is the Boathouse at The Spit on Spit Road, Mosman, about twenty minutes from the Sydney CBD. The building belongs to the Middle Harbour 16ft Skiff Club and sits directly on the beach, with warm timber, imported stone and gold-leaf painted ceilings inside. Ceremonies are held on the lower deck over the water or outdoors looking across Middle Harbour, and operable walls let the room scale from small weddings to 280 seated with a dance floor.
Veri’s Sydney team photographed Jacqueline and Gionatan’s wedding at Zest, with the bride getting ready at Manly and both ceremony and reception at the boathouse. The drive from Manly to The Spit is short, which left the afternoon free for water-level portraits on the deck and the sand before guests arrived.
Seven small things that make a real difference on the day — learned across hundreds of weddings. None of them involve practising poses.
In motion, unposed · FR 15AYou don't need to perform or worry about what you look like. The best photos come from real moments: a glance, a laugh, a shared breath. Let go a little — we'll guide when needed, and the best unfolds naturally.
A little breathing room between getting ready, the ceremony and couple portraits makes all the difference. It gives us space for spontaneous shots — and gives you time to soak it all in.
A quiet lane, an open field, a textured wall — we love meaningful or interesting spots. Trust us to find great light, but if you've got a place you love, let's work it in.
Phones can distract from the emotion (and your photos). Asking guests to be fully present makes for cleaner frames and a more heartfelt atmosphere.
Clutter-free rooms with natural light are a photographer's dream, and calm energy in the morning sets the tone for the day. Keep the space tidy — or assign a friend to do a quick sweep before we arrive.
Especially during portraits — hydration and a little sugar go a long way in keeping energy and moods high.
We've worked at hundreds of weddings and we're here to make you look and feel amazing. Trust us with the light, the angles, the pace — we've got you.
The harbour throws light back up under the deck, so faces stay open even when the ceremony runs in full afternoon sun. The sand in front of the boathouse is the couple’s portrait spot at low tide; the jetties and moored boats fill the background at high. Inside, the gold ceilings warm everything, and we balance flash to keep the harbour blue through the windows at dusk. Rain moves the ceremony indoors with the same view.
