A pillarless ballroom under seven-metre ceilings and eight chandeliers, built for a thousand guests
Palladium at Crown is the grand ballroom on level one of Crown Towers in Southbank, on Whiteman Street behind the casino. It is one of the largest wedding rooms in the country: pillarless, with seven-metre ceilings, eight custom chandeliers and panelled walls, seating up to about 1,100 for a full-room dinner and dividing into sections for 220 to 650. It hosts the Brownlow Medal and the big awards nights, and its production rig means lighting, staging and screens are already in the room.
Veri photographed Danielle and Michael's reception at Palladium at Crown after their Syrian Orthodox ceremony at St Aphrem and portraits at Carlton Gardens and Crown Towers. Wide frames show the ballroom's chandeliers and dance floor. Closer photographs follow the zaffe drummers, first dance and guests celebrating under coloured lighting.
Ask the venue about the planned lighting and reception timeline before choosing camera positions. This gallery includes wide ballroom views and close dancing frames. Danielle and Michael's outdoor portraits were made separately at Carlton Gardens and on a Crown Towers rooftop terrace; the rooftop frames are in daylight. Their gallery appears below.
