Riversdale Golf Club is a golf club on Huntingdale Road in Mount Waverley, in Melbourne’s south-east. It began as Surrey Hills Golf Club in October 1892, the second-oldest club in Victoria after Royal Melbourne, and moved to this site in 1927; the Alex Russell course opened in 1930. The clubhouse was rebuilt and extended in 2010. The grounds run to tree-lined fairways, lakes along Damper Creek and stone bridges. The function rooms take a formal reception of up to 140.
We photographed Sue and Chris’s reception here after a church ceremony in Glen Waverley and portraits at Canterbury Gardens. About three hundred people came to the church; the reception list was short and specific, with grandparents and both of Chris’s parents first. Riversdale’s terrace gave us the golden-hour set as the fairways emptied, with cocktails at half past six.
For Sue and Chris it was the reception venue; the day also took in Syndal Baptist Church in Glen Waverley and Canterbury Gardens in Canterbury.
