Launceston Golf Club is a private members’ club on Opossum Road at Kings Meadows, about 5 km south of the Launceston city centre and around ten minutes from the airport. It holds the oldest 18-hole course in Tasmania, a par 72 of 5,808 metres, with a pro shop and practice facilities, and the clubhouse hosts weddings, business events and functions. Kings Meadows sits on the floor of a shallow valley, around 70 metres above sea level.
Veri photographed a reception here after a ceremony at Franklin House, the 1838 National Trust homestead nearby at Youngtown, and that gallery is below. The two make a sensible Launceston pairing: a heritage garden for the vows and the portraits, then a clubhouse with a big room for dinner and no long drive between them.
For Tania and Jamie it was the reception venue; the day also took in Franklin House in Youngtown.
