A tower hotel on Wellington Parade, Fitzroy Gardens across the road and the MCG next door
Pullman Melbourne On the Park is the hotel on Wellington Parade in East Melbourne, opposite Fitzroy Gardens and beside the MCG and Melbourne Park. It has 419 rooms, many looking over the gardens or back to the city skyline, an executive lounge on the eighteenth floor, and eleven function spaces including a Grand Ballroom built for large weddings and galas of up to a thousand guests. The hotel has since been renamed Pullman East Melbourne, though most couples still use the older name.
Veri photographed Naomi and Hector’s ceremony and reception at the Pullman, with their portraits across the road in Fitzroy Gardens. That is the whole appeal of the address: getting ready upstairs, the ceremony and dinner downstairs, and the avenues and lawns of Fitzroy Gardens a two-minute walk from the lobby.
Seven small things that make a real difference on the day — learned across hundreds of weddings. None of them involve practising poses.
In motion, unposed · FR 15AYou don't need to perform or worry about what you look like. The best photos come from real moments: a glance, a laugh, a shared breath. Let go a little — we'll guide when needed, and the best unfolds naturally.
A little breathing room between getting ready, the ceremony and couple portraits makes all the difference. It gives us space for spontaneous shots — and gives you time to soak it all in.
A quiet lane, an open field, a textured wall — we love meaningful or interesting spots. Trust us to find great light, but if you've got a place you love, let's work it in.
Phones can distract from the emotion (and your photos). Asking guests to be fully present makes for cleaner frames and a more heartfelt atmosphere.
Clutter-free rooms with natural light are a photographer's dream, and calm energy in the morning sets the tone for the day. Keep the space tidy — or assign a friend to do a quick sweep before we arrive.
Especially during portraits — hydration and a little sugar go a long way in keeping energy and moods high.
We've worked at hundreds of weddings and we're here to make you look and feel amazing. Trust us with the light, the angles, the pace — we've got you.
A hotel wedding runs to the clock, so I plan the Fitzroy Gardens portraits for the gap between ceremony and reception and walk rather than drive; the crossing at Wellington Parade is the only delay. Upstairs, a room with a garden view makes the getting-ready frames, and the ballroom is lit for dinner rather than for photographs, so I bring my own light for the first dance. Wet weather means the whole day stays indoors without a change of plan. The gallery below is Naomi and Hector’s wedding here.
