Hotel Realm is a five-star hotel on National Circuit, Barton, inside Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle and a few minutes’ walk from Parliament House. It has 163 rooms and anchors the DOMA Group’s Realm Precinct. For weddings there are three spaces: the National Ballroom with its custom chandeliers for 70 to 460 guests, the High Courtyard with soaring ceilings and curved timber walls for up to 100, and Brassey Gardens, two and a half acres of 1920s grounds next door.
Veri photographed Shara and Geveen’s Indian wedding reception at Hotel Realm, after a ceremony at the Brassey Hotel nearby and portraits at Nara Peace Park. That is the usual Barton pattern: the ceremony and portraits move around the Triangle and the lake foreshore, and the ballroom takes the evening.
