By the time Camilla and Jason's wedding came around, we'd already explored Flowerdale Estate with them for their engagement portraits. That first visit took us down to the stream and out through the long grass. On the wedding day, they got ready on the property before Camilla came down the stone steps to meet Jason for their first look. We photographed their ceremony beneath a timber arbour by the lake, then took them into the hay-bale paddocks for portraits. Later, they walked through the Pavilion's green doors to a room full of applause. We could change the scene from lake to paddocks to party without driving anywhere.

Engagement portraits, ceremony and reception: Flowerdale Estate, Strath Creek.
We started this story before the wedding, with Camilla and Jason picking their way across the stream in casual clothes for their engagement session. When we returned, we held back as Camilla approached Jason on the stone steps for their first look. The lake and trees let us pull back for a wide view of the ceremony; afterwards, we walked with them past the paddock fences and hay bales. Inside the Pavilion, guests applauded their entrance, Camilla raised a glass, and later we caught her wiping her eye at the reception table. The dancing carried on under coloured lights. Before we left, we made one last portrait outside beneath the festoon lights.
We didn't need to leave Flowerdale Estate to give Camilla and Jason's wedding several different looks. The stone steps gave us a quiet place for their first look, the lake opened out behind the ceremony, and the paddock fence and hay bales brought in the country setting before we headed to the Pavilion. We could shoot wide for the guest-filled entrance, then get close for the speeches and dancing. If you're planning portraits here, we'd leave time for a short walk between those spots—and perhaps a final frame under the festoon lights once the party is in full swing.
